Nikki played tennis from middle school to high school & went on to get a scholarship in the sport her first year of Jr. College. After college, Nikki focused on her family. Then in 2008 she was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease known as Ulcerative Colitis at the age of 23. This disease caused 4 Years of depression, medications, and hospital stays. It left her with little to no control over her own body. In 2013 she decided to take back control, so she started weight lifting. It saved her life physically, but also mentally. Sadly, despite her new found strength and after 9 years of battling her illness, she never gained remission and every medication failed. She had emergency surgery to remove her entire colon in 2015. A year and a half later, with a total of 3 surgeries behind her, she became a certified personal trainer. Her goal now is to inspire people. She loves motivating others to be the best they can be, to not take their body for granted and to help them realize they are so much stronger than they think they are.
